Review on Terrascope online
29 Jun 2009
Our record has been reviewed by Terrascope online, one of the best psychedelic fanzines around.
Here's the review:
'The Italian psych-rock scene must be doing well if 'Steal Another Hour From The Night' by *Nicotine Alley* is anything to go by. Recorded and mixed in four days, and marrying powerful yet subtle guitars with rock drums and bass, the fuzzed-out songs, all written by main man and ex-Jennifer Gentle guitarist Paolo Mioni, have various influences including Neil Young and Crazy Horse on 'Hole In The Sun' and 'Talking With Jesus Blues,' which has a great Doors-esque guitar solo at the end. The drums pound and clatter on 'Song For You,' an album highlight - great chorus - while 'Distracted' is another song that lies somewhere in the Neil Young direction. Album closer 'A Pond Full Of Stars' is a mighty psych jam with some nice guitar/bass unison playing, then a spooky bowed guitar part beneath a bluesy solo. Rockin' good entertainment.'
Review on Blow Up Magazine

Our CD has been (positively) reviewed on June's issue of Blow Up Magazine (one of the primary music magazines in Italy). It seems the reviewer really liked A pond full of stars.
Nicotine Alley on air in Texas
10 May 2009
Our radio debut has taken place in Texas (most likely)!
One of the songs from our record, Talking with Jesus Blues, has joined songs by Johnny Cash, Nick Cave e Frank Sinatra (our honour), in a show about Easter. We feel very holy. Thanks to Le Chateau Daddy-O on Koop Radio.
Koop is a radio based in Austin, the city of the fantastic SXSW festival.
First record is out!!

We have a new bass player, Michele Ronchitelli. Michele has replaced Beppe, who had to move away from Padova for work reasons. Big hugs to Beppe, welcome to Michele.
New album almost ready!
28 Jun 2008
The new album is almost ready. We've recorded 9 songs, for a total of about 35 minutes of music.
There are several guests in the record: Tommaso Cerasuolo from Perturbazioni on backing vocals, Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle) on bowed guitar and harmony vocals, Andrea Garbo (JG) playing fantastic slide, and Art of Wind on acoustic 12 string guitar.
Nicotine Alley & Art of Wind
15 Jan 2008
Paolo has played guitar on two tracks of Art of Wind's forthcoming album. One is provisionally titled 'the Melon Song', the other is still currently untitled. The album is currently being mixed, and should be published by In the Bottle Records.
PM and Marco from Art of Wind met when they both played at an Elliott Smith tribute at Udine's No Fun Club last December. Coincidentally, they were both playing the same song (Big Star's Thirteen), and that led to a chat and then the recording.
Both tracks showcase Art of Wind's usual knack with a whimsical folkpop tune, now with added nocturnal atmospheres from Paolo's guitar.
